"Happiness is an attitude. We either make ourselves miserable, or happy and strong. The amount of work is the same."             -  Carlos Castaneda
“Emotional baggage,” which is carried over from the past, colors our perceptions. Likewise, past conclusions and beliefs, based on reasoning that may or may not have been accurate, also tint our perception of reality. Retaining our capacity for reason is common sense, but definite conclusions and beliefs keep us from seeing life as it really is at any given moment. Emotional reactions can be unreasonable, and reason can be flawed. It’s difficult to have deep confidence in either one, especially when they’re often at war with each other. But the universal mind exists in the instant, in a moment beyond time, and it sees the universe as it literally is. It’s the universe perceiving itself. It is, moreover, something we can have absolute confidence in, and with that confidence, we can maintain a genuinely positive attitude.”  ― H.E. Davey, Japanese Yoga: The Way of Dynamic Meditation
“A positive attitude is most easily arrived at through a deliberate and rational analysis of what’s required to manifest unwavering positive thought patterns. First, reflect on the actual, present condition of your mind. In other words, is the mind positive or not? We’ve all met individuals who perceive themselves as positive people but don’t appear as such. Since the mind is both invisible and intangible, it’s therefore easier to see the accurate characteristics of the mind through a person’s words, deeds, and posture. For example, if we say, “It’s absolutely freezing today! I’ll probably catch a cold before the end of the day!” then our words expose a negative attitude. But if we say, “The temperature is very cold” (a simple statement of fact), then our expressions, and therefore attitude, are not negative. Sustaining an alert state in which self-awareness becomes possible gives us a chance to discover the origins of negativity. In doing so, we also have an opportunity to arrive at...

“Sometimes our light goes out, but is blown again into instant flame by an encounter with another human being.”  ― Albert Schweitzer
“Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you  could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day. You shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.”  ―  Ralph Waldo Emerson
"There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle."- Albert Einstein
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”  ―  Marianne Williamson ,  A Return to Love: Reflections on the Principles of "A Course in Miracles"
“You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one. I hope someday you'll join us. And the world will live as one.”  ― John Lennon
“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.”  ― Maya Angelou, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings
“Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.”  ― Martin Luther King Jr., A Testament of Hope: The Essential Writings and Speeches
“Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it's better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring.”  ― Marilyn Monroe
“So be sure when you step, Step with care and great tact. And remember that life's A Great Balancing Act. And will you succeed? Yes! You will, indeed! (98 and ¾ percent guaranteed) Kid, you'll move mountains.”  ― Dr. Seuss, Oh, The Places You'll Go!
“You've gotta dance like there's nobody watching, Love like you'll never be hurt, Sing like there's nobody listening, And live like it's heaven on earth.”  ―  William W. Purkey
“It is unfortunate that for some, kindness is an unwarranted expenditure, compassion an avoidable weakness, and love an unnecessary gamble.”  ―  Wayne Gerard Trotman
“Some people are born with a fire inside them. The will to succeed. It isn’t a learned behavior. It’s just some unknown biological factor that makes them try harder.”  ―  J.A. Konrath ,  The List
"Growth and change are painful, but not as painful as staying stuck somewhere you don’t belong."-Anonymous “That which does not kill us, makes us stronger.”- Friedrich Nietzsche  "The way in which a man accepts his fate and all the suffering it entails, the way in which he takes up his cross, gives him ample opportunity – even under the most difficult circumstances to add a deeper meaning to his life."- Victor Frankl Its proven study that  PTG (post traumatic growth) refers to any beneficial change resulting from a major life crisis or traumatic event, though people most commonly experience a positive shift by having a renewed appreciation for life; adopting a new world view with new possibilities for themselves; feeling more personal strength; feeling more satisfied spiritually, and/or their relationships improve.
"I want to be remembered as a person who felt there was no limitation to what the human body and mind can do and be the inspiration to lead people to do things they never hoped to do."-Carl Lewis, an Olympic track and field champion  Be like Carl Lewis, don't let the limitations of others discourage you. Believe you can do whatever you put your mind to. Persevere, if you face challenges or obstacles find a way over, under, or around them. Your success will be determined by your determination.
"A man must be big enough to admit his mistakes, smart enough to profit from them, and strong enough to correct them. Leaders must be close enough to relate to others, but far enough ahead to motivate them. People buy into the leader before they buy into the vision. A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way. Learn to say 'no' to the good so you can say 'yes' to the best. The greatest mistake we make is living in constant fear that we will make one. The greatest day in your life and mine is when we take total responsibility for our attitudes. That's the day we truly grow up. Remember, man does not live on bread alone: sometimes he needs a little buttering up. People never care how much you know until they know how much you care. A good leader is a person who takes a little more than his share of the blame and a little less than his share of the credit."-John C. Maxwell
"A person's age can be determined by the degree of pain he experiences when he comes in contact with a new idea."-Quincy Jones
"Inflexibility is one of the worst human failings. You can learn to check impetuosity, overcome fear with confidence, and laziness with discipline. But for rigidity of mind there is no antidote. It carries the seeds of its own destruction."- Anonymous
"Wonder in our worlds is like known knowledge and is impressive, but that of the unknown wonders are altogether miracles within itself." -DelRay Bradley
